double din Mini-Disk
#2
Yes I agree about the Alpine, and I am not aware of a double din Mini disc Head unit either.
I looked at the Alpine multi- disc in dash unit but it is very expensive for what it is, circa £700.00.
Unless you are an audiophile, you would be better off with a different make.
Sony kit is generally bottom end equipment, but is functional, their mini disc stuff is markedly cheaper than anybody elses,.
As they developed it my guess is that they charge a license type fee for anybody using it making their kit disproportianately expensive.

I don't know of any double din mini-disc units, but there are always ways around.
Alpine make a mini-disc changer, which takes 3 mini-discs and fits into a single din hole. This is driven by the Alpine head unit of your choice. That way you can have either a tape, cd or md head unit, and link it to a md changer.
They also do a cd-changer that will fit in a single din hole, so you can have more or less all media in your car!
I'm think about adding the md changer to my car, along with my tape head unit, and cd changer in the boot!
I know that Kenwood, Pioneer and Sony have similar products, but I've always believed that Alpine give superior sound quality to the other brands I've mentioned.
Hope this helps!

Hi y'all...
I like to prove everyone wrong.... you have a short memory span Mr Tuckwood.. LOL
I have a double DIN Alpine head unit, which is MiniDisc and CD (3 CD to be exact).
Its full LPS, DHE, EQ....(usual enhancements - Equaliser, Surround sound effects, etc)
Cheers,
J.

My apologies, I've been to sleep since then.
Anyway Jay, trying to remember ALL of your 'bits & bobs' is like that memory game where you get 30 nanoseconds to remember what the 75 items covered up by the tea towel were.

Can you tell me the model number for this unit?
Is it the exact same size as the addzest unit I want to replace? and how easy are they to fit?
Cheers
Dave
