MY01(STI) Speaker size?
#1
I don't venture in here much so excuse me if this has been answered a million times before.
What size are the front and rear speakers?
What size of speaker will fit in the cut out areas in the boot shelf (if any).
Finally anyone know the part no for the double din to single din adapter/blank thingy.
Cheers
Andy

The front speakers are officially 130mm, but you can get away with fitting a 165mm speaker, but you will need to make up you own backing plate to fit the original holes - I've just fitted some Infinity 605cs speakers and used a 6mm MDF panel made by tracing around the old speakers and using the new speakers grill as a guide.
Worked well.
Rear doors are 130mm, and you will struggle to fit anything larger as the metal intrudes on a 165mm speaker.
I chose to cut out the parcel shelf and fit 165mm speakers there.
The single din conversion is okay to use, but i found that there was not enough room to fit the cage of my panasonic stereo, so a bit of bracket bending was needed, but it all fit very snuggly in the dash.
The single din pocket is a little cheap and nasty so I used some foam rubber from the local craft shop to line the base - looks and feels better and stops things being sent flying under acceleration.
Hope this helps
