Possibly thinking of replacing the Alpine SWE-1000 powered sub under the drivers seat with a passive run, run bridged from a Genesis Profile 4 under the other seat.

I need recommendations on the sub to choose (I think the Genny puts out 140w bridged - Genesis Profile 4 - Amplifier) which I guess will be 8inch - same size as the driver in the Alpine. I then need to find somewhere to make a box for it, as I'm guessing nothing off-the-shelf will fit - it needs to be same dimensions as the Alpine:

W250 x H272 x D114mm

Alpine SWE-1000 Subwoofer - Car Audio Direct

If I can get the stuff together I can probably fit it myself, I've done the rest of the install, although I'm the first to admit it's not perfect.

What do you reckon? I'm not looking for massive bass, and it needs to fit under the seat.

For example, this seems about right, but may be a little deep at 114mm - if it is boxed, how much clearance is required?

Thanks Andy - I completely agree, however it's under the seat or not at all! I've got a wagon, and half the time its full of kids bikes, or with the seats folded down taking stuff to the tip.

I've got a powered sub under there now, and it goes usefully lower than the components. It really makes a big difference, but I would like to tidy up the install and use the 2 channels of the Genesis currently unused. I'm not after huge bass.
