Reverse camera pics
Well the ICE bug has bitten me, fitted an amp and sub last week, and a Pioneer DVD headunit, still more to do yet. The headunit has a reverse camera socket on it so I thought I might as well make use of it, can't have too many gadgets
So anyway I fitted a cam yesterday and I thought I'd post a couple of pics...

Cheers, it didn't come with any mounting brackets so a hole had to be drilled somewhere, I figured putting there at least if I ever wanted to remove it all I'd need is a new no plate, and the hole in the bumper would be hidden.
It's a Pioneer 6500DVD, it's an oldish one, but still does pretty much everything newer models do.

Yep... most double-din units have a reverse camera feed specifically for this purpose....
I bought mine off Ebay.... £40ish.... oh and make sure you get a CCD one over a CMOS one.... you'll notice the difference

Mine is mounted in the centre using a 90 degree piece of aluminium and is attached to the car by the 2 middle numberplate light lens screws therefore no drilling of the numberplate or bumper.

No it shouldn't break anything. Mine have been out many times without a problem. Just ensure that you pull straight up. Under the sill plate there are some square holes that it locates in, once you have one off you'll see how easy it is. I think you have some clips which hold the carpet in place to the chassis but these are under the sill plate. You'll need to remove these clips to put your wire in, you'll see the cars wiring loom and some clips it sits in. Just put your camera wire in these or cable tie it to the wiring loom.
Once you pull that first sill plate off it will all come very straight forward.
Andy.
