Infinity 605cs - Xover Question
#1
Fitted my 605cs yesterday thanks to BoostII and the FAQ, but have a question on the crossover. Currently I have the speakers connecting directly to my Kenwood headunit (no AMP) and was wondering if I should have the tweeter connected to the -3dB +ve output of the crossover or the standard non-reduced output??
If I set the headunit to zero levels for treble and bass I do get high frequencies quite hard, but if it's turned down to max they go away... Might not make any sense, bit hard to write down what you hear.

I have got some of those speakers myself. I found the treble harsh when at high volume levels. The -3dB connection does make a big difference. Try putting the treble to zero (my kenwood head unit goes from -4 to +4 on treble and bass settings) and start playing with the volume. I have mine set at -1 on the treble and +2 on the bass when at 20 on the volume. Hope this helps. Are you planning on running an amp at later date, you will find this makes a big difference aswell, as the head unit amp is not very powerful. You might get some distortion at high volume levels without an amp.

LOL - Jawa. I bet you thought I was going to call you back again Thanks M8
I've got the Kenwood setup like yourself Infinity, might have to take the door panel back off and change to the -3dB setting. I ended up making tweeter brackets out of the Meccano style bar you get with the headunits, so that I could mount them behind the door handle grill.
Thanks again
