N00b here ;

The stock speakers are shockingly bad in my WRX, i'm looking to replace them but i'm not overly keen to cut and shut some 6x9's into my parcel shelf. I'm not looking to run a sub (been there, done that, got the hearing aid) just some high end components.
What options do i have? are there any direct replacements that i can buy? does a guide exist to replace the speakers? will i have to do some modifications to change them?

any advice/pointers would be appreciated

Couple o hundred for front speakers and a semi-decent HU.
And from looking thru some of the old posts i'd prob try and get a forrester pocket thingy.
Am kinda concerned over removing the door cards etc as im bit heavy handed and sometime have a distinct lack of patience
Asuming that i buy upgraded speakers and fit a collar around them so that the magnet doesn't foul the window, would this then give me issues when trying to refit the door card? (pronoucned speaker making contact with grill in door car)
