Default Kenwood Double din screen with nav DNX7240BT

Anyone got one of these yet?

Kenwood Electronics UK Ltd. | Multimedia > DNX7240BT

Looking to replace the headunit in the wifes Smax with something that has nav and Ipod connections and this seems to tick all the boxes

Any opinions?

I'm running the DNX5220BT - great unit does everything well but you do need one of the Kenwood iPod leads, won't run with the iPod lead.

All the main features work well and you can get speed camera alerts from pocketGPS for about £20 a year Bluetooth should be a parrot unit and is upgradeable.

I've got its predecessor. The DNX7200. Its an excellent piece of kit.

The sound is superb. The sat nav is far better than the OEM one I have in my new company car too.

My only criticism is that the crossovers arent as adjustible as they were on my old Alpine. Fortunately I've been able to tweak with my amps.

But all in all it is an incredibly good head unit.

Ended up getting the dnx5240 as it did everything i needed for a lot less ££.

Quick question though- ive installed it but havent connected the handbrake sensor cable as yet, assuming this is why dvds arent being displayed on screen(only audio).

Anyone know if theres a fix to get the dvd going without the handbrake sensor wire connected?

I think if you just "ground" the connection the DVD will work without the handbrake being on

That's exactly what you do, just ground it. Job done!

Yep agree with Crammy and Al/Daz. My handbrake cable is tapped into the earth wire and my iPod lead came from Hong Kong, make sure you get one with the three connectors (USB/Video/Audio)
