Speaker Upgrade Rewire?
You guys changing your speakers - Are you just changing the speakers or are you rewiring for better sound aswell?
I ask as I'm part way thru installing 4 Vibe Blackair speakers in my Blobeye and the rubber tubing from the doors into the car are proving to be a right pain in the asp

Now see this is my problem, I've spent 2 hrs, I'm 1 door done (just the wiring, not even got round to making mdf spacers) and I've so far cut 2 slits in a gromet and the rubber tubing to get the new wire out of the car and into the door. These speakers are 100w and 120w RMS, I just didn't know if the standard wiring would amp them up ok as it looked a bit thin compared to the wires that came with the speakers. If it's not worth it I may just stick with the standard

if you are running amps, mate it's much better to upgrade your cables as well, but i'd only do that for the front speakers, you only need rear speakers for a bit of rear fill, even if you need them at all.
good luck mate.

Front spacers are made and I'm just catching by about 1mm on a bolt that holds the glass in. I reckon a bit of silicon seal when seating the final time will sort that out tho. I'll finish off the fronts with the new cable as I will be amping those, it's a shame I couldn't get the wires in the original door rubber but hey ho
The rears can run on the existing wires until it warms up a bit and I'll do a proper job all round. I've just gone out n bought a dremmel so I can cut the rear doors to fit without spacers. Doesn't seem a lot of room back there
Thanks for all the replys, I reckon a rewire is the best way forward in the long run

I have done this job and upgraded to a high quality OFC cable, it was a right awkward job to do and took the best part of a day, running the cables from the amp in the boot and through into the doors. The hardest part is getting the cable through the door grommets. If you are using an amp then this job is almost essential, as the OEM cable is not designed for high power applications.
