Default PROBS FITTING A DOUBLE DIN STEREO IN A BLOB EYE

Hi all,

Having some probs, hope someone can help.
I've bought a double din stereo thinking that i would just be able to do a straight swap over but it's slightly bigger than the original subaru stereo.
Has anyone else encountered this problem and if so how have they overcome it?
Cheers

Its an aftermarket dvd unit i am trying to fit.
The fascia sits just over the original stereo but won't fit over the new stereo, the new one seems slightly taller.

Does it have a surround that can be removed, or can you move the stereo down by elongating the holes in the mounting brackets? That's what I did for my JVC double din.

the original stereo sits just behind the fascia wheras the new one is too tall to go through, looks like i will just have to cut the fascia
