Default Calling all Pioneer DEH-P70BT owners

Had a quick look through the instruction book but i'll be fecked if i can find out how to stop the display from switching between blue background with black writing and black background with blue writing

It's doing my head in as it catches my eye as i'm driving when it switches colour

Anybody give me a idea how to get back to just the plain black background

ignition on, unit turned off press the display button that turns off the demo mode and press the band/esc button that should turn off the illumination switching mode, same as all new pioneers

yeah tried that one as well. Push button 5 (on the stereo diagram in the intructions) when the unit is switched off but the ignition on and it's supposed to stop the display switching colour every 10 seconds. Mines switching every 30 seconds or so and by pressing button 5 it makes no difference at all!!!!!!!!

In the manual its shown as "reverse" mode when it switches colour. Just select no to disable.

I tried it in reverse mode, but its very annoying when you just catch it flashing in the corner of your eye.
