Max depth front speakers
Over Christmas I ordered a pair of £75 165mm Alpine speakers to replace my factory speakers, knowing they had a short depth. The company I ordered from phoned up to say they were out of stock, but could send a pair of DB-Audio T-rex 6.1 speakers that normally retail at £130 in their place. Seemed like an excellent deal. However, I forgot about the depth, they arrived today and are about 90mm deep. I cannot get the door cards off until the weekend, is there any way even with MDF spacers that these will fit ?
Any knowledge appreciated.

very unlikely im afraid,i fitted Focal K2P components in my blobeye Spec C and they were deep at 77mm which i managed to fit using an 18mm MDF spacer and the door card is a tight fit to get on without fouling the speaker.I think you are going to have a nightmare unless you can get some door pods made up for them
good luck with it

Scooby-tc, your car looks great, but fogive my lack of knowledge, what is a "door pod" ? I asuume that to mount I would need to cut a hole in the door car for the speakers to fit through, but that sounds like a nightmare trying to line up. i wonder what a profesional installer would charge ?

A door pod is made up of mdf and filler making a moulded purtruding mounting point for your speaker. It brings the speaker forward and enables better angles for the speakers improving stereo imaging.
Can be costly due to time required to make
