I think you need to ensure the blue wire has 12v supply when ignition is on, it is for the aerial amplifier.

The poor reception is down to the ariel being in the rear window not a lot you can do about it, its very anoying

You coud try buying a dab radio, Ive tried it but the area we live in has poor coverage so that didnt work either.

There is of course the option of fitting a bee sting ariel and running straight to headunit. But yes the blue wire has to have 12v to amplify the signal through the pants rear demister ariel

Rob 1980 yes 02 cars are the same but be aware even with amplifier on the reception is still rubbish

Hi,
By fitting an autolead connection, will this automatically take care of the wiring being connected? I.e. i'm led to believe its pin 14 which needs to be powered. So is the electric aerial blue wire capably of supplying the 12v required?

Thanks

i also suffered this problem for a long time on my newage.
the radio antenna is fitted into the back window but there is an amplifier built in.
you have to make sure you joint 2 cable at the headunit.

the answer to this was posted to me a while back but i cant seem to find the old post.

sorry i cant be exact on the wire tho.
