any lads know of a single din radio that will flip 180 degrees to a plain black screen like the old sony cdx-m8800????
looking for a new radio but dont want something that the scum will be able to see through the privacy glass!!!!

The Kenwood KDC-W707 does, but the motor on mine has packed up after 18 months and now it won't flip, or power up even. An additional advantage of this one is you can remove the face panel before it closes as well. Double safe

Oh yes, the old Kenwood mask system, I had one of these units and lost the mask key, so thought that was it for the unit. I had a quick flick through the yellow pages in desperation and was amazed to get the mask function overridden for a tenner, so not so safe after all.
The biggest problem with these units is a ribbon cable that attaches the plate behind the face to the head unit, the cables breaks and the unit is kaput, you can get replacement ribbon cables for a fiver off EBay, replacing it can be fiddly. This could be the problem with your unit, Jon.
