Default Which IPOD Controller Stereo

Typical, couple of months outside of its warranty my stereo packed up so I'm going to replace it with one that does IPOD direct control/charge.

My short list so far is the Sony CDX-GT441, and Pioneer DEH-50/5000/6000.

The most expensive of them is about £120 which is the most I ideally want to spend, but has anyone used any of these and can offer advice on the pros and cons, or recommend any others.

Don't mind makes such as panasonic, kenwood and alpine but no ripspeed or roadstar sh!te please

Thanks

Jon

If you don't need to have cd capability then its worth looking at the alpine x300. It has one of the best Ipod control systems on the market.

Sony Ipod controls are pants and very difficult. I have a sony with Ipod controller and I gave up and used the aux input instead as i can control it so much easier than through the stereo unit.

I agree with above I fitted an Alpine X300 to my car and have run the ipod cable and usb cable into the glovebox, works superbly It can be had for about £125 delivered with the full speed IPod cable, only issue is the lack of CD drive, but I don't use them anymore

Cheers, had a look around and that is spot on the price range.

I really don't care for having the CD as it is another moving part to go wrong.

I've got an Alpine CDE9881RB & the Ipod playback & search is superb. I think it was £149 from Halfrauds about 18 months ago.
