1.Don't know about 1152, but components 605CS are likely to be better £93 - but you'll need to think where you are going to put the tweeters in late models there is a place by the door pull - don't know about MY94.
2.Max mounting depth 72mm with spacers and a lot of effort. About 64 without. 59.5mm of 605CS fit comfortably. They come with an adaptor to go in - at least in MY00.
3.see other thread from today - Chiark where has your Faq gone. Links in my post in that thread.

Hi,
3 questions really :-
1) I'm interested in buying some front speakers, specifically Infinity 1152 (maybe wrong here ! ). I think they retail for around the £60 mark. Will these fit into my MY94 door ? Are these speakers any good ?
2) Does anybody know the maximum mounting depth you can fit into a Impreza door ?
3) What's involved in fitting the speakers into the front door, specifically, how do I get to them !
Sorry if these have been asked before !

I bought some Infinity 652i coax speakers from Halfords for £60 (the cheapest I could find them on the web was £54 and I couldn't be bothered with all the delivery hassle). These dropped straight into my MY2000 using the adaptor ring supplied with the speakers. I had to solder the leads on but that took all of 15 seconds and my soldering technique is pants.
I thought about the 605cs component kit but just wanted to do something fairly cheap and straightforward.
I'm afraid I can't advise on a MY94 but I can't believe that it's radically different i.e. a 6.5" speaker should fit OK. It's really the depth that makes the difference. You may have to 'adapt' the hard plastic shroud that the speaker sits in to accommodate a deeper model.
I couldn't believe how cr@p the standard speakers are! It's well worth the time and effort.
