Default Blobeye door speakers

Has anyone replaced these with some decent quality ones?

Just wondered what size they were.

I changed mine to Focal 165 K2P components and they are amazing speakers but you do need to manufacture an MDF spacer to accomodate them

worth sound deadening your doors, try to make your door into an enclosure (same principle as a sub box) with the stuff, thats the only way you will get it sounding nice

16.5`s will fit but they will all hit the window when it goes down, what you need to do is make a baffle as already said by scooby-tc.

This serves two purposes, one brings speaker away from window, two improves sound quailty as the originals where fitted into thin flimsy steel.

12mm mdf is fine i used 18mm and they still clear the door card fine. Im using 16.5 jbl components.

As already suggested the best subaru door mod is by far sound deadening. Just spending a few hours taking all the vibration out of the panels increases volume and richness of the speakers making them sound as good as they should. Subaru`s wernt designed for loud sounds so all the usual tricks need to be used to get the best from them.

might be a daft question. You mean put sound deadening felt on the inside of the doors?

Definately put sound deadning on the inside of the door skin (behind where the back of the speaker would be) and also all round the door

who ever said vibe are rubish obviously has not listened audi r8 it is an sq car have spent time listening to this car. Rob spent days building this and getting the imaging correct not to mention this was running off the factory headunit.

if you are compairing vibe space sq with budget kit you can not go wrong, you could compair this to mtx without any problems. If you are in to spl you can spend £1300 retail and hit a 140 to 150 with the correct enclosure. as done in the honda

the differnece is all down to speaker positioning you could spend a grand on speakers and get the install all wrong and a pair of £25.00 speakers sound better.

again listen to the speakers before you purchase but the differences can be huge, depending on vehicle volume resornate frequency of the vehicle etc etc.

forgot to say sound deading is the way foward but have a look at other makes as well.
