two 1 dins into double din slot

Chaps..
Have installed two kenwood one dins into the double din slot. Things is its all a bit tight and the black mask that usually surrounds the units wont fit.. Thus you can see the casing around both units...
Has anybody else done this and what did you do to make it look all a bit neater..
