Rear parcel Shelf
#1
I have a four door saloon sport, I want to mount my CD changer underneath the rear parcel shelf ( it's currently on the boot floor and gets banged a lot).
has nayone tried this ?
If so tdo they have a template for making a mounting panel for underneath the existing shelf ???

You may find that you lose a lot of height in the boot, but it's a good place all the same.
Best way to achieve this would be to use bolts down from the top of the shelf, though you'll need to remove the shelf to do this which isn't much fun.

I placed mine under the parcel shelf.
Remove the boot light and place somewhere else.
Drill and screw up through the metal parcel shelf (after removing hardboard one with directions from Chiark's
FAQ) and block screw ends with cork or rubber.
Make sure magazine has enough space to eject before final placing and the unit is as level as required by manufacturer as there is a ridge of metal in front.
Replace parcel shelf.
Mine only takes up about 3 inches in boot height as it fits in a recess and is a good place to have it - easy to change magazine.
Hope this helps

If going this route, just go easy to make sure that your self drillers don't poke through the parcel shelf
Short screws would be best

No offense but I like the fire extinguisher in the trunk with the Jensen amp and RF sub.Classic. I'm guessing the net is there to catch the RF cone as it is thrown from the basket?

Well finally done, Saturday morning I set about removing the back seat and parcel shelf.
So the changer is now sitting pretty mounted on a finely molded bit of wood underneath the parcel shelf, I didn't have to move the boot light.
I did however have to rewire the cable to the changer, the smart person who fitted it originally fed the cable through the rear seat. Use the cable runs, that's what they are for !!!
Anyway I'm happy, thanks for the pointer to the FAQ folks. My only problem was the parcel shelf and the glue from the window. After a wee bit of tugging and some carefully placed cuts with my stanley knife I made it.
