if u look at the back of the speaker were the wires are soldered you should see a + next to one terminal on the white or grey cardboard insulator.

The speaker terminals are the same size.

The wires in the doors are
Front Right - Red / Yellow & Black / White
Front Left - Green & Brown / White.
Just need to know what colours are + and - . The speakers are waiting to go in

Cheers for your sugestions scoobynewbie72.

You need an expert - something which I'm not - but you connect a AA battery to the speaker wires and if the cone moves out it's ??? if it pulls in it's ???

Sorry for not knowing the important bit ........ any ICE experts out there ???

Hi. It's not the old speaker i'm worried about, it's the wires in the doors so i can wire up the new speakers, i can't tell which is + & - as the original wiring plug has 2 (large) identical terminals, you normally get 1 large (+) & 1 small (-) terminal.

Cheers Stuart.

Something to beware about with some aftermarket speaker, they maybe wired in reverse!

So even if you get the colour codes and terminals right, they are out of phase. (ok left to right, but wrong front to rear if the rears are a different brand).

Any issues with odd imaging or dodgy bass, swap the polarity round, and see if the bass and imaging improves.

If you hold the connector like a 'T' shape - the -ve is the horizontal bar and the +ve is the vertical bar.
