I've just brought one of those double din multimedia player/stereos from e-bay, you know the type, imported from Hong Kong with no brand name! My question is, the main cables go to a standard ISO block, but there are 4 others though that are separate, they are labeled as below:

1.Brake
2.Reverse
3.P.Gnd
4.P.12V Out

Does anyone know if they need to be connected and if so where? Are they for the optional reversing camera that some of these units can take? I was just going to leave them disconnected.

 

I think the 'brake' one is meant to go to the handbrake switch so the DVD only plays when the handbrake is on, if so I've read that you can ground this to make it play all the time. Where is the best place to connect this too?

i hear any ground point will do. as you'll have a hole in the dash when you're fitting the hu, there are likely to be a numbe rof places you could connect or at least routes to places you could connect....

 

Reverse is probably for a camera signal (from reversing lights)if you have the rear facing type and the 12v out may be for the electrical ariel if fitted best get a meter and test what conditions are present but if it works ok without connecting them then forget it....
