Default Head Unit Pre Outs?

I'm looking at buying an Alpine IDA300 and it has 1 pre out. I intend to have 6.5 comps up front and 6.5 2/3 ways in the rear with a little sub. None of it very expensive as its going in my Jeep.

Will this Head Unit do the trick?

Ta.

will you be putting the speakers through an amp?? You can buy an extension to have more pre outs..

for best sound you should use an amp

hope this helps

I think you can get RCA splitters, so you could in theory use these 2 run 3 amplified speakers (front, rear and sub). Some amps may do this for you without splitters (I think). You will need a 5 channel amp to run the above if you do amp them all though.

A better option may be to do the following:

Keep the standard rear speakers and run them off the headunit (you will probably find you don't need to use them much).

Use the money saved to buy one of the higher range Alpines, the X200 is only £20 more and has 3 pre-outs. Much better!

Buy a 4 channel amp to power the front components and sub (2 channels front and 2 bridged for the sub) - JBL are generally a good budget option. Make sure your chosen sub matches the amp.

Lastly, it's worth spending a bit on sound deadening the front doors, this makes a bigger difference than you might think.
