New Sub, standard HU - switch req'd ?
I've just fitted a twin 12 inch sub enclosure to the standard HU and used a RCA Line Convertor for the RCA leads. (I promise a new HU will follow !)
For the remote live I connected this to an ignition 12v on the HU wiring loom which means the Sub only turns completely off when the car ignition is switched off. (i.e. you hear a "rumble" from the Sub even if you are driving without the HU on)
I was thinking of fitting a switch to the remote live - will this enable me to turn off the Sub completely even when driving?
Never fitted a switch in this way so I assume this would connect to the remote live and the ground wire on the HU??
Hmmmm....

On the back of the standard head uint there is Live that poweronly when the set is turned on I think it maybe a booster for the Antenna. I'd probe the wires on the rear of the set and you'll find a live when unit on and nothing when units off.
