Default Kenwood 7200

Hi

Looking to get one of these as everyone on here suggests this is the way to go but I wanted to know is that enough? Are the standard speakers ok with this setup? I remember when I looked into it before I was given conflicting information from an audio shop, one said start with the head unit and the other said the standard head unit was a good piece of kit it was the speakers that needed upgrading.

Thanks for any advice

The sound quality will only be as good as the weakest link and the speakers are the weakest link

True - speakers are appalling, head unit is only moderately awful.

i have a 7200 myself and was running factory speakers for 6 months. now i`ve upgraded to JL audio XR series but a good upgrade on a budget would be a set of P series kenwoods or a bit more expensive, the PSR series.

7200 is an outstanding set.

I know nothing about car audio except the set-up in the Hawkeye is sh**t. In your response you suggested the Kenwood P or PSR series are these a direct fit into the existing casings? In other words could I buy them at a good price online and take them with the 7200 to my local audio shop to be fitted? If so is there anywhere you recommend purchasing, how many would I need and do I need anything else that I would need to supply my fitter to ensure a good set-up?
