Default Instal advice - cross over wiring

Hi guys - grateful for some advice - I posted a while ago re different types of speakers, and have now bought some Infinities which I quite like the sound of (in the shop anyway...!).

I've got some after market stuff from the previous owner, and have a cone speaker and a separate tweeter in the doors (car is a 2 door).

I'm not quite sure how to wire in the cross over for the new cone speaker and tweeter. I was expecting to see the wiring from the Head Unit to the door (two wires - negative and positive...), cut off the connector, and then wire this into the cross over input - using bullet connectors (is that a crap way to do it?), and then wire up the speaker and tweeter into the cross over? But there are separate wires for the tweeter (looks like a negative and a positive) and for the cone speaker (four wires which then converge into to two inputs in the connector plug - I assume positive and negative!) in the door wiring loom - Has the signal already been split (to the tweeter and cone speaker) by Subaru when they put in the wiring?

It looks like I've got the original connector plugs - and the prvios owner has chopped teh cables and used bullet plugs to the speakers) really grateful for some advice as to what I should be joining together to insert onto the cross over - do I just take the tweeter input wires and stick them all together with the cone speaker input wires into the cross over?

Also, I was planning on using a glue stick with a heat gun to stick the cross over onto the inside of the door card - is this a good idea?

And as mentioned above - are the bullet connectors good enough to do the job of joining things together?

Thanks very much....!!!!!!

p.s. bgger - it is now raining so I can't go out and play!!!! or take some pictures until it stops!

ok i think i know where you are lol, you need just a pos and neg from the headunit, that goes to the input on x-over then from there to the mid and tweeter,

as for fitting the x-over in the door put it in a bag when u finished to stop moisture getting in

Sounds like a good idea re protecting the cross overs - just had to pop out and left the door card off - door is wet inside! Might have to seal the bottom of it!

I think there may already be a cross over - As it looks like I've got factory fitted wiring from the door loom to the tweeter and the cone speaker - need to trace it back to the Head Unit and see what's what - but starting to get dark now!

Thanks for the advice re the cross over!

na they just split the loom and put a cap on the tweeter, use the wiring from the cone speaker to the x-over and then wire from there

What do you mean by "a cap on the tweeter" ?

Thanks for the info - hopefully should be pretty simple to sort out!

Brief update - as per advice from Scooby mark, and in case anyone else has the same question - the OEM wiring comes in from the car (red cable with yellow stripe and green cable with black stripe), through the door and then runs down into the main bass/mid speaker. the connector plug for the mid/bass speaker obviously has a metal connector which the negative and positive speaker wires are crimped into - but this metal connector is a double connector - so the single positive and single negative oem wires run into the connector and then Subaru have run a wire out of each of the other negative and positive terminals of the bass/mid speaker connector up to the tweeter - which is why there are seemingly 4 wires into the mid/bass speaker and only 2 into the tweeter!

The OEM tweeter has a capcitor in it which acts as a filter on the signal sent to it (which is the same as to the bass/mid speaker in the door.

Thanks for help re the above!
