Default Classic boot install

Hi all,

I have just bought a classic 3dr and want some advice with the dynamat fitting.

Does anybody have step by step instructions for fitting dynamat around a 3door?

I have bought a bulk pack of dynamat xtreme (9 pieces) so I am also after advice on where the dynamat is needed the most.

All help appreciated!!

Firstly - welcome to ScoobyNet

Needed the most on the doors mate. place some behind the speaker on the door itself (directly behind the speaker about 12" square) and the other on the actual door skin itself around the speaker. (you may have to remove the plastic weather skin). The idea is that the dynamat stops the vibrations of the music through the metal of the doors.

The majority of the rest of it will be needed for the spare wheel well, sides of the boot, area behind the number plate, boot lid and under the rear shelf. (I have shares in the stuff for my car)

You could even apply some to the back of the number plate itself as this stops its rattling at high volumes!!!!!

Fitting is easy enough as you just cut to size (with stanley knife or roofing scissors) peel the backing off and apply.
For best results - leave the dynamat INDOORS and NEAR a radiator for 24 hours prior to using - this softens the backing and makes it stick better.
- Ensure the metal work is clean and dry prior to starting
- Use a small roller (hardware store) to apply dynamat as this ensures even coverage and no lifted areas.
- Dont worry about being too precise with cutting - no one else will see it
- TAKE YOUR TIME AND DO IT PROPERLY.

Have fun and all the best
