Default DVD head unit help!!!!!

just bought one tryed to plat a dvd and it wont play just comes up with blue screen saying IT IS ELLIGAL BLA BLA APPLY PARKING BRAKE???

theres a pink wire that exits from the back of the head unit does this need grounding to the hand brake or sumit???

i do want it to play whilst im driving any way around this?

help

Just ground it and it should work then. Not legal to view when driving hence saying connect to the handbrake switch. Your risk if you crash.

As Andy says grounding the handbrake cable will allow you to watch and drive!!

Had a similar problem with mine.

I just found a good earth in the centre console bit and attached it there.

Jobs a good 'un.

lol. simple but it works. i accidentally did found it out as i was fitting mine.

I ran the wire to a discreet switch near the handbrake and then back to the metal bracket that is screwed to the side of the head unit. You have to make sure that is earthed though - it is on a new-age with a black wire & spade connector.

Check the settings on the unit, mine had the option to turn 'parking' off, so I did

dragon - just anywhere on the car that is earthed ie, as mentioned in the posts above or somewhere that already has an earth on it like the fuse box or such

does this mean like attaching the wire to a metal plate? to kinda ground it or do you have to attach it to another wire?

Any ground point on the car should work.

You may have a switch underneath your hand brake lever that will have a ground wire so just connect it to that or use the ground wire in the headunit loom.
