These people are very dodgy

They sold me a faulty Genesis amp. Put in shoddy cabling (they even ran some decent cables from the Amp, only to splice them with crap a few inches were you could not see them)

Further to this they sell you Dynn audio - it blows up due to a design fault which they admit - then they suddenly turn round and say naaaaahhh you'll have to buy another at £200 (without any reference to the manufacturer!)

Please do not deal with these people - you have been warned!!!!

They are based in North Leeds if the name does not give the game away!

Yes it did happen to me - and yes I'm not at all happy

I'm probably gonna have to bin the other Dynn and go down another route - probably cd technologies - pricey though at £600!

That sounds familiar...Your question is the same as mine a while back.It's not the Dynaudio we know.It's a factory setup.Same as Crysler used Infinity and Ford used JBL sound systems factory.The factory Infinity system,with 10" sub,was actually very nice as far as factory systems go,but the price was totally bull****.
Steve,I'm sorry for your misery.But it happens here too.All too often.
It's one thing to be able to wire a system just to make it work,but it's another to make it perform.

Steve, are these Dynaudio speakers? What model?

If so, then I'd get onto Dynaudio themselves as i've always found them helpful in the past.

Having said that, people often power them actively and they are sensitive little buggers: any on/off pops and the tweeters are likely to blow without some sort of protection.

rockin - I don't think this is a factory setup as steve bought them from a dealer.

They do provide factory setups (volvo are one, i think) and they are Danish, not German.

There's no reason why the speakers should have any inherent problems as their stuff really is (IMHO) top quality. It may be that they are not actually an approved dealer and therefore cannot get warranty work done (this is happening more often these days).

Thinking about it Steve, if the amp was faulty then it may have been the cause of the speaker's demise. It doesn't take much DC current to blow a speaker....
