Default Bug eye head unit removal

Morning all, looked in the faq's and the only link I could find that looked like it may have been of use didn't work. Could someone please give me some idea how to get the head unit out of my 01 impreza. Cheers Dan

ehgp publishing ltd private pages

I used that link this morning to remove mine, as easy as so just in the process of bluetoothing my phonebook to the new unit as I type.

Good luck
AC

Mopar Dan All you have to do is pull out your cup holder and you will see two screws, remove these and you will be able to remove the whole thing. Next you pull the air vents with your hazard light switch out so as to let get your fingers behind the silver facia around the head unit. Give this a gentle pull and the facia will come off exposeing your head unit. Remove the six screws which are holding it in and voila your old house brick of a headunit is history.

If you are going to fill the gap under your new headunit with a forester cubby hole then you will need to drill two holes in each of the two mounting plates.

Hope this helps mate
