Default Focal Speakers

Focal Polyglass V2 130 CV Coaxial
Focal Polyglass V2 165 CV Coaxial

I have been recommended the above speakers and was wondering if any of you guys have any opinions on them. They are apparently as good as any component set up, they only thing is I would only be running them off my HU and not an amp so maybe not get the full potential out of them that way. I was happy with my Infinity coaxials running off my Sony HU but now I`ve changed to the Alpine HU, which is far superior, the sound quality is compromised. Any help will be gratefully appreciated.

So newer models available then? Just want to know that running them only off the HU will be sufficient enough to hear the quality of the speakers as they are expensive, but if they do the job then cost isn`t an issue.

I ran my Focals off the headunit for a little while and although they were a vast improvement over standard i wasnt getting anywhere near the sound quality these speakers are capable of so i went the whole hog and had a system built around it and they sound fantastic when powered by an amp.Mine are the Focal K2P component set though

the retail price on focals are really expensive anyway.I think my K2Ps retail at £450 but i was lucky enough to get a set off fleabay for £150 and i fitted them myself.I dont think £600 is too far off the mark bearing in mind you do have to make MDF spacers to get them to fit and also dynamat the doors to get the best out of them
