Having decided to have a screen installed in v.near future, just wondering if there is a multi DVD/CD changer on the market or do i have to make do with an in-dash unit.

Pioneer do a dvd/cd multi changer.
There is a deal on a panasonic in dash dvd/cd head unit in fast car this month. £750 with a screen I think the unit is the first to offer dvd audio as well (not that there are many discs yet)

I believe that for this year you're limited to in-dash - the Kenwood unit is one that springs to mind.

Alternatively, there are DVD hideaway units, but no changers that I know of...

Buy the kenwood for this year then give it to a helpful moderator next year

Pioneer do do a dvd multiplay, but it isnt cheap.

The pioneer incar tv, offers the only 7 inch widescreen and fantastic user interfaces.

Only problem is the loads of boxes that are required, and the fact that it only runs by remote control.

Kenwood, do an indash tv screen and dvd head unit that is touch screen.

Only other box is add on tv tuner.

PS.

my tv aerial is mounted inside my roof lining so it remains invisible and works a treat.

Alpine are due to launch a 6 disc DVD changer any day now with both AI-net and standard outputs...

Around 1200 quid, apparently.

Of course, there's always the PS2 option... OK so the video output may not be great but I daresay you'd be hard pressed to notice the difference on a 7" LCD (as opposed to a 40" widescreen).

Anyone know about region mods for the in-car DVD stuff? Last time I looked no-one was really working on them as the market was too small.

If that's the case and you want R1 stuff then it may be worth looking at the portable DVD players (either with or without screen) as the prices are coming down and are certainly a lot cheaper than the in-car units!
