I`ve just installed a wiring kit in my 04 WR1 & took the glove box out which made life a lot easier to see what I was doing! It`s easy to remove with only a few screws to take out!
The easiest way through the bulkhead was through the large rubber gromet where the a/c comes into the car. I pierced a hole in the grommet with a screwdriver ( carefully!!) from the engine side then fed the live cable through into the car.
Hope this helps!

Hey fellas, there's sorta 2 sides to the bung and its about an inch thick, and I found it a bit difficult to know whether I'd made it all the way through. So I got a long (8"), thin, flatbladed screwdriver, wrapped the wire around the balde and made a small knot on the shaft behind the head (ooo err), pushed that through and was easily able to find the driver / wire. That way I didn't end up making a massive hole in the bung that could let water or fumes through.
