Question removing headunit from my98 sti

hi all
i just replaced my95 wrx with a my98 sti type r.
can any one tell me how to remove the headunit that is currently in (kenwood i think).
with the old wrx u had to remove the trim surround to get to the stereo are the later models the same or do they just pull out with those special tools?

thanks all
