I've just done the best possible £5-00 upgrade. I've changed all the speakers in my MY99 4 door with Infinitys and they are fine but there was something not quite right. I Dynomatted the doors and it made a huge difference but I baulked at the £120-00 for the dynomat boot kit.

So the upgrade...........

I went to the local scrap yard and bought a boot carpet from a Granada (M reg if you want to find one). It fits very well under the felt liner on my car, with just a very small bit of cutting of the length. There is some velcro on the carpet to hold it in place against the bottom of the back seats, but importantly its rubber backed so it sound proofs superbly. This made ALL the difference and I'm sure that Dynomat couldn't do much better, or not at that price! I'm very impressed and for a low cost upgrade it would be worth a try for anyone.

Rob,

I did the same with carpet underlay in my boot. It cuts airborn noise from the exhaust very well!

Definitely worth doing.

Cheers,

Nick.

Pretty much that, Greg. In fact, exactly that.
