Single DIN in 2001 WRX (New Age)
I'm looking at installing a single DIN stereo in my 2001 WRX (New Age), just a couple of quick questions:
1. Can anyone confirm how I remove the centre console cover to get at the old stereo? I've seen some other posts, but just want to check the same applies to my type/age of car.
2. With regards the blanking plates you can get from Subaru, is there a black version as well as the silver one I've seen? I've read that the silver isn't an exact match, so might go for the black to be safe. I can't seem to find either on their website, is it best to phone your local dealer direct and order over the phone or are there other suppliers of them, or alternative products?
3. Might be a silly question, but does removing the stereo and disconnecting it's wires effect the alarm and immobiliser at all, just didn't want to take out the old one and screw up the alarm. The car's manual mentions a keypad for disabling the alarm if your remote is dead, as I haven't found this 'keypad' yet, I was wondering if it was integrated into the numeric buttons on the stereo as in other makes of cars?
Thanks...
