My standars speakers are foobard,split cones,anyhoo,measured the diameter,summut like 15.5cm, great,went to halfords, they do 16.5 cm

now, even tho its 1 cm, i can see a problem fitting them,is this the case ?

Sony sell some custom-fit speakers that should fit the subaru doors... they fit most things however dont sound too great as the magnets are usually very small to allow for multi-fitment of the speaker. If not get in touch with one of the ICE suppliers and ask them if they do a 15.5cm speaker as quite often they do however high street retailers only sell the common fitment stuff.

Failing that, if you were happy with the standard speakers im sure ebay would have them for peanuts.

**EDIT: Had a look for you, and it seems Autoleads sell a speaker mount which allows you to fit a 13cm speaker into the standard hole. Here is a link I found of one on ebay. Hope that helps.

Got Sony 16.5's in mine, in home-made mdf spacers, which aren't visible once the door card is on. Been in 4 years, no probs apart from one of the speaker wires fell off........

16.5's fit fine. Just make yourself up some 18mm MDF collar and away you go job done!!

Good news if you got 17cm ones in there. I'm wanting to do the same thing. Which ones did you buy, and what vauxhall brackets did you use?

I had the same as Rig in my last classic, 17cm speakers mounted on Vauxhall Corsa brackets, sounded fookin brilliant! Just need to get a similar setup in the current toy now

I've got a set of kenwood components in mine, Same size as factory but sound so much better.

I paid £130 for them a couple of years ago, That was for the mids and tweeters with a active cross over.

Infinity 6010CS are a direct swap for the OEM speakers and fit in the OEM mounting brackets aswell.
