Alpine to iPod - Help
Ok lads, some help would be appreciated. I have an Alpine Cd player, model CDA 7876RB, from 2003 collection I think. This was the year before they allowed for ipod connection through the bus connector. Is there any connection I can use to connect these? I tried Halfords but not very helpful. All the Alpine products available are for newer range head units. I don't want an fm modulator as sound quality is ultimately more important.

I just purchased this from eBay for exactly the same reason. eBay.co.uk: AUTOLEADS INCAR iPOD CHARGE+PLAY KIT - THRU YOUR RADIO (item 260084493834 end time 17-Feb-07 10:54:23 GMT)
I haven't received it yet so I can't tell you how good it is but it looks simple to fit and just plays the music through the stereo and leaves the controls to the ipod. Also its one of the cheapest solutions I've found
I'll post again once I've got it hooked up

Yes it's one of the early AI-Net ones that isn't compatable with the Alpine ipo interface its the CDA7893R
I recived the cable yesterday and fitted it 20 mins or so with taking the head unit out and replacing it and making a hole so the cable goes into the cubby hole next to the hand break.
Works really well (need to switch the AUX input on in the menu of the head unit) and the IPS charges while there is power to the headunit and great sound quality. all the controls are still on the Ipod (except volume) on slight issue I have with it is that the Ipod doesnt sense when the head unit is turned off or switches scource and keeps playing, not a big issue though as it is charging anyway.
For a nice simple, cost effective, good quality solution
