Question

I have a 96 WRX oooohhh luuurvely but, the aerial was ripped off whilst avoiding some 4X4 or other on a stage in Wales (I was the service car for an historic rally not competing!) but I need a new mast. Apparantly you can replace just the mast and not the whole unit. Does anybody know where I can get one?
Incidentally my ICE people have no idea (The Sound Gallery in High Wycombe) but are going to put in a switch so it doesn't happen again!(I mostly listen to CD's)
WRX aerial is an electric item on nearside rear wing. Thanks.

Hello,

I feel like typing alot tonight.

Most masts are generic in design. I'm not sure what make of Aerial it is, but chances are the mast from another car will fit, check the length, number of sections, etc. They can be quite tricky to replace as you have to fed the nylon toothed cord down into the mechanism as the aerial is being retracted.

If you still have the mast, take it will you and try and get a match.

If you are after a replacement Scoob one...try a breakers - Theres Central Subaru and one in Scotland somewhere.

Fitting a switch will work for the aerial, but its a bit poor. Is the aerial connected correctly to the radio. When I change from Radio to Mini to CD, etc.... my aerial is retracted.

J.

Thanks for info
Stereo is an Alpine 7837R unit and always puts the aerial up when on. this is correct as I have two of them fitted by different specialists into different cars. It is a bit of a bind as I hardly ever listen to the radio!
Anyway cheers for the help
