One other question, the Subaru head unit had a seperate earth. The replacement unit has it's earth wired into the ISO connector. The corresponding wire on the ISO connector that was already there appears brown, then when it goes to the big connector covered in foam, appears to come out the other end as black.

Is this really an earth?

cheers

If I recall correctly, it's the earth for the ariel. As I'm currently in Nice (niiiice), I can't just nip out and check.

This is what you get for rushing into things

Nick.

Nick, do moderating duties extend even to your holiday? Or is it a business trip? But that wouldn't be so "nice" would it? My wife frowned upon the idea of my darkening the door of an internet cafe when we were on holiday recently.... Scoobynet withdrawal.. not helped by having a Mitsubishi Lancer hire car (1.3 carb version not 2.0 turbo though LOL). Aircon made a kind of turbo-esque noise though, and when it went off it felt like a turbo had kicked in somewhere...
