Default Apline HU with iPod adapter

I want to change mu Headunit in my car from a Panasonic flip screen jobby (put in by the previous owner and maybe put in an alpine HU.

In my last car I had a Pioneer cd player one and I really like it. But the new range on Pioneer headunits leave me cold. So I was thinking about getting an Alpine HU with either with a Full Speed one or add a Alpine interface adapter thingy.

Whats the benefit between the two?
Cheers
Darren

I fitted the 9850ri full speed at the weekend. Great unit quality sound easy to fit. Bit boring to look at but looks great in vehicle. Drill a hole in your forester pocket and whip the lead thru. Proper full speed as well

The only problem with that HU is that it is silver which means it will clash with the classic impreza centre console

nope thats bang on. I couldnt be arsed waiting on delivery etc so I just spent 200 in halfrauds. only ballacher is that you need an aerial adaptor and the usual iso connecter. By the way if you use a forester pocket make sure you put the hole in the back before you bolt it all back in

CAD have it for £164.99. I ordered my pioneer HU from them and was really impressed with there service.
Car Audio Direct - The UK's leading car audio and stereo resource. Alpine CDE-9850Ri iPod Full Speed - Alpine ALP-CDE9850RI

Im just going to pop out and have a look at a few in halfrauds....don't worry, I am not going to buy it from them.

i had the 9855r with a kca adaptor. Problems are it is slower by a second or two and the box is HUGE so it need routing behind the dash or ideally sticking somewhere under glove box rear. So its a bit of a pain for a slower unit and more pricy but its your dollar!!

I have come back from Halfords and seen the CDE-9850Ri priced at £249.99 and it looks a little too chrome from a Classic impreza dash.

The 'full speed' is quicker and less hastle than installing the ipod interface unit.

The only other Full Speed Alpine Headunit is the Alpine DVA-9861Ri iPod Full Speed priced at £350, and this one is black.

I did not really want to spend this sort of money on a HU. Plus I am probably not going to use all the features on the DVA-9861Ri.

What do I do?
