bugeye 02 Speaker replacement
Before anyone says "search the previous threads" I have done and i'm a little confused as to which speaker size will fit the fronts and the rears for an 02 bugeye. Some people have said 61/2" and some 16.5 / 17cm speakers.
Can someone clarify this. Also if power is stated as 50w nominal with a max of 150w peak - can a 100w be safetly put through the speaker?
Thanks
Nick

both speaker sizes you say will fit, just make sure the speakers arent too deep. You will still have to make spacers from mdf anyway, see the sticky for the guide how to do this.

I got mine yestersday, very pleased. I'm going to fit Infinity Kappa 67.5 in the front and Infinity reference 5012i in the back. Not sure about a small sub yet. I had Infinity 6010cs in the front of my 2002 sti and a middle sized sub in the boot. The problem is the speakers arn't really big enough to give enough base, so a small sub maybe required.
Hope this helps

They look perfect, I am now looking for some speakers for my doors, have two 12" subs for the boot ready for installation, just not sure on what speakers to choose for the doors.

Try the adapters by all means, I did and took them back out. The plastic caused rattles and vibration when driven hard, even with dynamat.
i then made some mdf ones, cost me about 3 quid for the mdf and about 20 mins of my time. Vast improvement, no rattles at all.
Good luck.
