stealth box auto acoustics

I made my own with fibreglass and MDF as well, it's not that hard and VERY satisfying knowing it didn't cost the sharp end of 200quid!! the mdf cost me about 4quid and the fibreglass mat, resin and hardener cost me 10quid from a local boatbuilders - I just wandered in off the street and asked if he would sell me some stuff or at least tell me where I could get some from, if you don't ask you don't get!! I got some box carpet from motorworld for about 12quid and a can of spray glue for about another 4quid. This is a link to a site that I got some good tips off - if you are going to try just take it easy and take your time, if you don't get it right the first time you can always try again and the sense of achievement is there when you finally do make it. I would also go for a sealed enclosure type as opposed to a ported one, they are easier to "tune" than trying to get the correct length of port, if you make a sealed box too small you can "fool" your sub into thinking it's in the correct size box by adding accoustic wadding (ordered from CPC, about 5quid a roll) Check the data sheet that came with your sub, it'll tell you how many cubic feet or litres your box needs to be, mine was 24 litres, and I measured it by filling it with water - it came to about 23 litres so it wasn't a bad guess on the size!! it also sounds the dogs ..............
