Default Double Din > Single Din: WRX '02

Hi Guys,

Just picked up my pride and joy today, a WRX Wagon with PPP '02.

Now I hope I havent been a bit hasty but I went out and bought a replacement single din head unit (Sony CDX-GT300S) along with single din blanking spacer thingy for volvo/subarus...The reason for my fear is the guy down halfords says I won't be able to do a thing without taking off the dash and trying to find a replacement silver surround.... and what I have bought won't fit..

Here's a piccy of my head unit. Really hope you can give some advice, like will I need an ISO harness wiring thingy too?

The silver surround DOES come off so that you can fit an aftermarket stereo.
This is mine (01 WRX)

Luckily on my stereo (Blaupunkt MP72) I could remove the outer part of the stereo surround so that it would fit inside the silver surround of the car.The result is what you see above

Good luck

Nick
