It a Bugger this one!!!!!
Would not advice drilling as there is so much electrics and stuff plus double walls.

On my legacy I found one by the Brake servo.
Think same on Impreza

Sure Chiark will know

On the MY98-MY00 there's a big grommet that's used for air conditioning in the passenger foot well. Make a small slit very near the centre, then use some stiff wire as a "feed". Attach your power cable, put a bit of WD40 on it then pull through.

Yeah , use the Air conditioning grommet ,(BUT MAKE SURE YOU PUT THE A/C HOSE BACK THROUGH THE GROMMET) , the hose has only got to act as a drain , so if it squishes it slightly , it won't matter , but don't block it completely.
