Pioneer / Alpine HU..??
Hi all,
Anyone got any experience of the following two headunits :
Pioneer DEH-P75BT with the Pioneer Ipod adaptor box
AND
Alpine CDE-9850Ri
Fancy one of the above, but can't decide . I know there's a price gap and I know the Alpine's silver, but the ipod links directly to the Alpine with no additional boxes. Though the Pioneer looks sweet and seems to be packed with features .
Anyone with experience of the Pioneer linked to an Ipod..? What is the speed like and what sort of info is on the display..?
Cheers,
Nige

Go to any of the top sound/ice establishemnts and the rule of thumb seems to be Alpine all the way. It is what the pro's use!.
I had a Pioneer Avic 900 hvt sat nav and the motor on the motorised screen broke twice. Now got thye Alpine n99 with 300r/b and have found it a mega outfit. Just my thoughts.
All the best,

Thanks Magic.
My only big negative against the Alpine that fits my needs is that it's silver and won't blend in nicely with my gunmetal coloured dash .
Trouble is, it ticks all the functionality boxes pretty much, plus as we all know, Alpine are the dogs danglies.

Ethanrob,
How do you get on with the glide touch..? Hear lots of negatives about it, surely Alpine wouldn't sell something that wasn't good..?
Cheers,
Nige.

I fitted a 9851 about three months ago, it uses the Alpine ipod control box thing that's great with the ipod, charges it to. Unit is black and costs less than 200 quid (plus 70 for controller)...looks cool. Same 50w*4 amp which sounds awesome - so much better than factory fitted stereo.
I always thought Alpine was the best.
