Speed signal wire for Sat Nav
Hi all
I'm sure i have seen a thread that said on later impreza's (i.e. 2004 onwards) there was a speed signal connection behind the radio, i have searched for this (before anybody points out the obvious).
So the question is, is there a speed signal wire on the headunit wiring connector ? or do i have to find it on the back of the speedo as i did on my old scooby?
Tim

Should find it at the ECU which is located behind a metal plate under the carpet in the passenger foot well (in the sloping bit where you stick your feet). I'll try to find the USA site I used.
Found it ! Here you go..........remember the US list UK MY04 as a US MY05. http://www.northursalia.com/modifica...ng/wiring.html
Andy.

I think the speed pulse wire is only availble in the radio loom from MY05 onwards.
On my 03 STi I connected it at the ECU as mentioned but on my 06 it was in the radio loom. Either way, very easy to find using the Apexi guide.

PS is the cable the same colour (green/yellow) on the radio loom as it is elsewhere on the car? or at least it was on my 2001 WRX

You can use the sat nav with the handbrake off its only the dvd/tv that is against the law to have on while your driving. If your pulled over they can check that your handbrake is wired up and if its not then they can give you a 21 day slip.

I can still use the Sat Nav with handbrake off but with limited options e.g. I am unable to select a new destination from the address book unless the HB is on.
Unit is Pioneer AVIC-X1R

Was looking at the extra wires needed for Speed, Reverse and Handbrake.
I notice on MT2007 STi there is a seperate connector with 2 wires.
I think 1 is green/yellow and the other brown (will double check again later).
Are these the speed and handbrake connectors.
As it will save be stripping the car down any further.
P.S if I am correct, does anyone know where the reverse can be connected
cheers

Mine was taped to the original loom, with a small 2-way white connector on the end.
