sound deadening
hi all, just wondering if there is an alternative to using DYNAMAT? cant really stretch to that at the moment and have been told about using flashing tape from B&Q or homebase for about £20 a roll?? is this really anygood? mainly just want it to stop the boot and parcel shelf rattling, i have a sub and amp in the boot and am going to be fitting some 6x9's in a few weeks and want to do it before i fit them? any help would be great, cheers

It could be worth your while reading the other thread entitled "sound deadening"
Flashing tape is cheap and isn't designed to do what you want it to do. It'll work, but the glue ain't all that. It's ok for flat horizontal bits, but put it on a door and you'll be left with a sticky mess in the bottom of your door after a hot day...
For the boot bottom, it's ok I suppose. FOr the lid it'll probably fall off

i've used roof flashing from wickes, an it has came out really good, obviously you have to have 2-3layers to get any real effect.
dynamat extreme is probally one of the best products out there.
to add to my layers of flashing i'm also going to apply a paste type product called "secondskin" which has only just started coming over from america.
the best bet for car audio info is to go to www.talkaudio.co.uk an there you can easily find out everything.
