I have been looking to upgrade to a CD head unit, better front speakers maybe CD changer, with up to £600 to spend, but have been disapointed by the sound quality of almost everything I have heard from Alpine, Kenwood & Pioneer. It seems that sound quality has been sacrificed in favour of lots of flashing lights on the display, great for the souped up Nova boys but not really what I am looking for.

I spent £600 -
Kenwood 6090R MP3/CD-Player
Infinity Base tube
400 Watt 2/way Amp
6x9" Kenwood components on rear shelf
Kenwood 6" Components in doors
Ran rear Speakers + Sub from amp
Front speakers off head unit

Sounds cool, you can hear the bass b4 the prodrive exhaust - well pleased. 97 scoob Turbo speakers are sh*t, Rover coupe 94M had better speakers as standard!!
