Default Sony MEX-R1 or JVC DV5101

I'm going to bin the double din unit in my car because I want to fit a psi3 unit . To replace it I've been looking at these two units Sony MEX-R1 or JVC DV5101 . Really like the idea of being able to get loads of music on one disk .

Anybody got either of them are they any good ?

Cheers ,

Martin.

Hi Martin,

I have the MEX-R5 which is the later HU to the R1. It has the ability to hook up wirelessly to a screen if you want to so that you can watch DVD's as well. See the following links:

or:

Halfrauds want £399.99 for it but I got mine from the e-bay link above when he was outing them for £187.00 recently. I think it's a great unit. I have about 500 MP3's on one disc and it plays them fine - even sorts them out into their respective folders as well.

Mark

Martin,

The guy selling these is great - a guy called Iz. He answered a couple of questions I had very quickly, kept me informed about the dispatch times, even supplied me with a tracking number for the courier when it did dispatch. All in all, a great guy to deal with.
