Took my old components out to put in the MY06 and.....
Before selling my classic i took my Rockford components out of the front doors and in the my whirl of putting all the standard parts back on i forgot to take the bl**dy crossovers out of the door
I do have a Rockford amp and sub but i think i'll just upgrade the speakers and run them from my Kenwood headunit (not the OEM one), so the question is... are the standard tweeters and woofer filtered at all or do they just get full range to each. I.e could i just adapt the harness and put the rockford components in and enjoy a half decent sound. Or could anybody recommend a budget crossover to purchase (the Rockfords were only £200 so don't want to spend a fortune on a crossover).
Cheers,
Tony.

The standard kit uses a capacitor to make a very simple first-order cross-over for the tweeter. You could pull this off and use it on your 'speakers, but it would be doing them an in-justice (it is a very cheap/poor solution and would very likely not match the needs of yours)!
Could you not get spares for the Rockford units?
