Default MY06 Euro Import Head unit?

I will be picking up my new MY06 WRX next week. Just wondered what head unit will be fitted to the car.

I will probably be changing it to a new ipod compatable Alpine unit. so if it is a double DIN unit will i need to get a single DIN adapter?

Probably the usual Kenwood crap.

You will need a single DIN pocket, unless you want a DIN - sized hole in your dashboard.

The FAQ thread has lots of info.

hi

The head unit should be the same as the 04 onwards shape impreza. Not sure of the make, but it is a double din and as far as standard headunits go, its pretty good, as are the speakers. Obviously they wont take a load of abuse, but i wouldnt describe it as a crappy kenwood one, My FTO came with one of those and boy was it crap.

not a clear view of it but you get the idea.

Blimey. And again, blimey. I've never seen that said about any scoob equipment. Did it change between the 03 and the 04? The 03 was atrocious...

as i said, the standard stuff is pretty good compared to past standard equipment. Although when i decidewhich head unit to go for, i will be upgrading.

However, "i have heard alot worse standard OS gear" - my god, they must've been poor.

Check the FAQ (as above) for details of how best to re-install the standard stuff to get the best out of it...
